Welcome to DBO

  • The DBO Vision is that every DBO student will achieve personal success and become a responsible and contributing member of the global community.

     School News

    • DBO’s Art Club, with the assistance and supervision of Mrs. Reilly, just finished their first mural in the halls of our school! The students worked together to design this Character-Ed focused mural around the theme “Advice from Bees”, and they fittingly executed the design under the windows looking out on the school garden. In an effort to educate viewers in nature as well as character through their artwork, the club even researched bees’ favorite flowers to be included in the mural.

    • BUDDY BENCH - The buddy bench is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. If a student is lonely or does not have someone to play with they can sit on the bench. If another student sees someone sitting on the bench they have been asked to imagine how that person feels and see if they want to play/join in. Thank you to the DBO PTA for this generous donation and helping us to foster inclusion and kindness here at DBO.

Principal's Message

  • Dear DBO Family,

As we end of the school year, it is always a good opportunity to sit back and reflect on our growth and successes.

Our Reflex Math program has been a tremendous success with students pushing towards our cooperative school goal of 1,000,000 facts solved by the end of the school year. Whilst they play games and collect tokens they are improving their fluency and automaticity, which in turn is helping their overall math skills.

Our IRLA Reading Assessments are tracking 'steps' and a majority of students are on target to reach their 600 steps by the end of the year. Our community garden is really a sight to behold, and we look forward to holding an official opening at the start of the school year to share it with the DBO community.

We also continue our focus on character education and raising good children. One example is the student designed character mural painted on the walls by our Art club students. See the pictures and time lapse video on our twitter feed or click on the Welcome to DBO tab.

Our PTA has been instrumental, as always, in supporting the school and providing students with a variety of resources such as our amazing Gazebo, alternate seating, and classroom supplies.

Finally, a big thank you to all of the DBO community who have supported us as we strive to help every student achieve personal success and become a responsible and contributing member of the global community. I wish all of you a safe, healthy and fun summer.

    Your Principal,

    Chris Marangon
