Welcome to DBO

  • The DBO Vision is that every DBO student will achieve personal success and become a responsible and contributing member of the global community.

     School News

    • DBO’s Art Club, with the assistance and supervision of Mrs. Reilly, just finished their first mural in the halls of our school! The students worked together to design this Character-Ed focused mural around the theme “Advice from Bees”, and they fittingly executed the design under the windows looking out on the school garden. In an effort to educate viewers in nature as well as character through their artwork, the club even researched bees’ favorite flowers to be included in the mural.

    • BUDDY BENCH - The buddy bench is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. If a student is lonely or does not have someone to play with they can sit on the bench. If another student sees someone sitting on the bench they have been asked to imagine how that person feels and see if they want to play/join in. Thank you to the DBO PTA for this generous donation and helping us to foster inclusion and kindness here at DBO.

Principal's Message

  • Dear DBO Family,

I trust you had a safe and relaxing summer and were able to enjoy some quality time with family and friends.

We are excited to be able to open this school year with a number of improvements to our school building, instructional programs and staffing.

As always we are looking forward to the opportunity to improve our communication and relationships with our families, staff and community. We will continue to collaborate with all members of the school community to ensure our students develop academically, socially, physically and emotionally. With continued focus on our commitment to excellence and our diverse learning community we will continue to provide an exceptional learning environment by challenging students every day.

Our faculty has been charged with creating and providing a collaborative learning environment through a rigorous curriculum that motivates students and creates life-long learners. Critical to this process is fostering each child’s confidence, self-esteem and abilities in order to ensure our students have every chance to become contributing members of the community, both local and global. We acknowledge that our students should be creative, critical, problem-solvers who use technology and any resources at their disposal to achieve the goals set for them by their teachers, families, school district and each other.

    Please note:

    • In order to reduce the amount of paper typically sent home, we will be utilizing electronic methods as often as possible for notices, forms and correspondence.
    • In order to stay up to date with information about upcoming events, visit the district and/or DBO website.
    • Your Parent Portal account will be your means of accessing your child’s report card, grades etc. and will provide a more timely method of communicating valuable information about and for your child/ren. Please make sure you access your account and update your email/phone number if needed.

We anticipate another productive and successful academic school year and working together as a team to provide the best educational programs for your child.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 973-361-7330.

    Yours truly,

    Chris Marangon

    Principal
