Principal's Message

  •                                           OCTOBER

    Dear KDM Families,

The changing colors of the leaves, the pumpkin flavored everything, and bustle of the hallways are sure signs that Fall has arrived.  September flew by so quickly and the students and staff seem to have never missed a beat!  As I walk through the hallways of KDM I see students and staff engaged in learning experiences all day long.  The first graders have been learning about butterflies and released 10 one day this month!!!  The Kindergarteners are adjusting nicely to the full day of school and making new friends.  The second graders have been enjoying being the “big” kids during K-2 lunch and have begun learning all about bats in their classrooms.  The third graders have their writing hung proudly on the hallways outside their classrooms.  The fourth graders are learning about bulbs and will be planting in our garden.  The fifth graders have been learning all about decimals in math and have been completing some fun activities surrounding decimals.

It has been nice to have the school filled with the sounds of students learning, playing, cooperating and making the most of each day!  The students have been earning their cafeteria points and we are anxious to see which class will earn the first prize!!!  Many students have been sent down to my office with Positive Office Referrals where they get to brag to me about the positive behavior they have shown in school!  Next week will be the Week of Respect and we will be celebrating each day with a different spirit!

Thank you for sharing the most precious gifts you have with us each day!  It is so fun to see their journey from the beginning of the school year and watch them grow smiley

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Lewis
