Welcome to DBO

    • BUDDY BENCH - The buddy bench is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. If a student is lonely or does not have someone to play with they can sit on the bench. If another student sees someone sitting on the bench they have been asked to imagine how that person feels and see if they want to play/join in. Thank you to the DBO PTA for this generous donation and helping us to foster inclusion and kindness here at DBO.

Principal's Message

  • Dear DBO Family,

Our first month of school has really flown by. Now that we have all our routines and procedures down we have really been delving into the curricula and working on our character education. I am proud of our students who have been demonstrating their particular grade focus:

    Pre-School - Caring

    Kindergarten - Honesty

    1st Grade - Bee Yourself

    2nd Grade - Giving

    3rd Grade - Responsibility

    4th Grade - Respect

    5th Grade - Pride

A big thank you to our PTA/volunteers who put on a great Back to school picnic, and to all those families who came out and joined us for a fun night. Keep an eye on the PTA page located on the DBO website for the weekly Buzz. You can also find our calendar of events on the DBO website.

In addition, it gives me great pleasure to be able to continue to give you an eye into our classrooms through our Twitter feed. If you have not already done so, please follow us @DBOElementary so that you can get updates and see pictures of all the wonderful things going on in the classroom and school.

As we move through the first month, I ask for your help in promoting healthy eating, sleeping, and hygience habits and trust that you will help by providing a quiet place for your child to complete any school work needed at home. In addition, reading to or listening to your child read for 30 minutes a night will drastically increase your child's academic performance.

We look forward to seeing you at some of our events lined up for October (Walk-a-Thon, Halloween Parade, and Halloween Bash).

    Thank you, as always,

    Your Principal,

    Chris Marangon
