Dear Dwyer Family,
Thomas S. Monson once said, “The Holidays are for the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.”
I cannot say enough about the precious gifts of selflessness our Dwyer Family has been displaying this year supporting one another and specific causes. It has not only been for the satisfaction of just giving money. Because money is not enough, money can be obtained, but it is through the Dwyer Family Heart that these lessons of giving are being taught and ingrained within our students on a daily basis!
Do not get me wrong, I love everything about the holidays: the decorations, the parties, and spending time with family and friends. However, what I love most is the feeling of giving back, paying it forward, to those who need it the most. This is what I see in our building, hugging a child in need, feeding our family during the holidays, purchasing for the Giving Tree and Frosty Friends, so that everyone’s holiday is special as ours!
I speak often of “Family” and the importance of the bonds we forge together, it is through these connections that our family truly lives the definition of what family truly means. Below is the best definition of the Dwyer Family I have found!
It means people accept you no matter who you are, where there is no hatred or judgement. The love of a family should be and is unconditional within our school!
Thank you again, staff, students and parents for making our school, one of giving, something our children will take and carry with them forever!
